SHOP THE LOOK
I’ve worked in the corporate world for quite a while and I have to admit my everyday work uniform was pretty boring. Being in a overall conservative financial industry, black pants or a skirt, a white blouse & a blazer or some variation of that combo was the norm. I will say that at the last company I worked for we had “casual Friday’s” aka”denim” Friday’s and that was something that was a total game-changer for me ! Obviously no rips, holes or fraying of any kind was acceptable but being able to wear a nice pair of jeans (and feel like myself) and then go out straight from work for a drink or dinner was key!
Today I rounded up my favorite office-to-drinks denim & blazers (scroll down)! For fall & winter I’m loving anything and everything plaid, checkered & velvet in the blazer department like this plaid style I’m wearing in the images above. Swap a black pump for a statement suede bootie (pictured above) for the cooler months ahead to compete the look.
For more traditional office wear, Theory is my go-to . I bought my first suit ever after graduating college at the Americana Theory in Manhasset with my mom. I left with a black suit (which included a black blazer, a white collared shirt, a pencil skirt & pants) and I kid you not I rotated those items for years and years to come! Definitely on the more expensive side but the quality is top notch. They also make a great standard black sheath dress that I’m a big fan of & I’ve worn as recently as last year. Overall their suiting in general feels so much more feminine then some of the other options out there and it will last you.
Outfit Details: Anine Bing makes a great Blazer and really nails the office to drinks attire! If you are looking to purchase an investment Blazer I would definitely check out this brand’s feminine, comfortable & structured styles: HERE My bag is Theory. It sort of looks like a CHLOE bag for a fraction of the cost. The cross-body is also detachable and you can carry it by the handle alone. Check out a variety of the Whitney Bag Styles: HERE My denim is Mother and this particular pair is super high-waisted and also has a slight flare of the leg. Love a mock-neck & the style I’m wearing is Something Navy.
