Happy New Year!! We started 2019 off with a few extra days of R&R in Florida. I can’t complain but at the same time I couldn’t help but feel the urge to get back into a routine and be productive especially with the bombardment of resolutions I’d been seeing on Instagram & the blogosphere. (If I hear about one more diet or work-out resolution I might go cray though! anyone else with me??) I kid I kid..
TAKING A BREATHER
It was really nice to take a bit of a break from the online world. My last Blog Post of 2018 went live in late December and I planned on taking a few days off from Instagram after Christmas Eve which turned into a full week of no phone/no comp which I really needed. I don’t know about you guys but I like to go off the grid from time to time and I don’t just mean online but socially as well. I needed to re-charge which I hadn’t fully done since I started Let’s Be Mom Friends a little over a year ago. I started Let’s Be Mom Friends not knowing where this journey would lead me.. and it turns out I ended up making quite a few MOM FRIENDS…I even met a few of you face to face over the past few months (which was pretty surreal). From a new mom at a mutual friends wedding who used by BABY REGISTRY CHEAT-SHEET for everything they needed as a new mom, to another mom while on vacation in Florida whose daughter made fast friends with Rosie. It reminded me why I started this BLOG which was to connect. Connect with other moms & women and to share a little bit about my experience coupled with some style and fashion inspo for both mom & babe! Meeting these women also really reminded me how amazing this @instagram & blogging community can be and how it can bring mothers together from all over.
I’m really excited for what 2019 has in store. I’ll be sharing a few personal announcements on the BLOG with you over the next few weeks. One being a NEW CAREER! 🙂 As promised I want to share more real life topics on the Blog this year including opening up a little more personally so here it goes! Staying at home full-time was always a temporary solution.and I’m not sure if I ever opened up about what I did before the blog but not to long after becoming a mother I made the tough & risky decision to leave a comfortable & well paying job in finance. My priorities had almost instantly changed and making a lot of $$$$ was no longer my main motivator (as it had been for the past 10 or so years). I was determined to set my own path and carve out a life where I could be more present in Rosie’s day to day. I realized within the first 6 months back to work that was not going to be an option. I know a lot of you Mommas can probably relate to the guilt and struggle that working moms are faced with daily and I know there are so many women that do not have the support system in place to even make this type of choice. That said, I’m proud of the decision that I made and am looking forward to the new opportunities that are on the horizon this year. I may have sacrificed $$$, stability & comfort for the unknown but looking back at the past year I wouldn’t trade my time with Rosie for the world. Being present for her during such an important & critical stage in her life and to watch her develop from a baby to a full on HUMAN I know that we made the right decision. I have my husband Frank to thank for this. Without his encouragement and support I really wouldn’t have been able to take this giant leap of faith in myself and embark on a path less traveled. His faith in me and us as a family never wavered even when it meant uprooting our lives as we knew it.
With this new career I think I finally struck the right balance and I can continue to work for myself which is something that I’ve always dreamed of and at the same time I’ll still be present in Rosie’s day to day. **STAY TUNED FOR A BLOG POST ON MY NEW CAREER PATH**
Don’t worry I’ll still be keeping up with the BLOG ! Stay tuned for lots more STYLE & MOM LIFE REALTED posts. As promised, I recognize that I’ve kept the blog mostly surface so far.. I’m attempting to define what’s private and just for me and my family and what I think is acceptable to share with the world… but this year I’m committed to pulling back the curtain a little bit more and will continue to share the realities (both triumphs & hardships) of everyday mom life! CHEERS to 2019 and THANK YOU! Thank you so much for following along, for your support, for your comments, your messages, questions! It all means so much to me and it keeps me going! I always want to hear from you! Whether you have a quick ? or if there are specific posts or topics you want me to write about just send me a IG message or email me: firstname.lastname@example.org! CHEERS TO 2019!
