Yesterday officially marked 30 weeks! Pretty crazy that I’m well into the 3rd trimester and now that the weather is getting nice I know the next 2 1/2 months are going to fly by! I’ve been communicating with a lot of you through DM but it’s been a while since I’ve talked pregnancy on the BLOG so I thought I would share a 2nd trimester update tonight plus the most comfortable (non-maternity) basics from Z Supply including their extra length pocket tees (good for covering the butt and thighs) and this sweatshirt overall. Obsessed! This brand is newer to me as of this year but has quickly become my go-to source for soft everyday basics!
I mentioned it on my Instagram but this pregnancy has been somewhat of an afterthought… I feel bad even saying it but it’s the truth. I’ve been asked a bunch of times what we are doing to prepare for baby #2 and honestly we haven’t really done anything besides trying to get Rosie prepared (a separate post on that coming at a later date) I do know in the back of my mind that I need to get a few things together like a bassinet (we didn’t get one last time around but I have this one picked out on my registry guide) plus some neutral onesies etc… I’m not really sure if it’s because we have a toddler keeping us busy all day/night long or because we didn’t find out the gender but I do feel much more at ease and ok with not figuring out everything ahead of time –We haven’t even picked out any names yet either! Both frank and I were named after our grandparents so with Rosie we knew we wanted our first to have family names as well. Rosemarie Loraine is a mix of my grandmothers middle name, my grandfather’s mother’s name and frank’s grandmothers name. For baby #2 we have to pick out a boy & girl name and have no clue which way we’re going to go…
In other news even though I’m in my 3rd trimester I still haven’t went to highlight my hair (I’m sure you can tell from all the pictures lol) Today we also had the 30 week checkup. We were able to take a peak at the baby and saw that it was in a yoga position with it’s little foot directly over its head today. I even saw a tiny yawn.. which makes perfect sense that the baby has been sleeping during the day and keeping me up all night 😉 We also found out at our last appointment that the baby was breech. That said my doctor mentioned that its to early to start thinking or worrying about it yet because the baby can turn at any point. She mentioned that when I hit the 34-36 week mark then they are usually in their position for the long haul. Has anyone else had a breech baby? Please comment on my post: HERE and let me know (so that other mamas can share in the discussion as well) I would love to know when/if your babies turned and if you took any measures to help along the process?
I’m also starting to pack on the lbs (lol)– which is exactly what happened last time around. I tend to gain a ton of wait late in the game (3rd trimester) I’m also starting to get uterus pain from the weight and pressure of the belly on my pelvis and it’s also effecting my shins when I try to go for a simple walk. I’m going to be purchasing this maternity belt again… which I used it during my first pregnancy but not until late in my third trimester. It helps relieve some of the pressure and lifts the belly up off of the pelvis!
Overall, I’m feeling good and it’s starting to hit me that baby #2 will be here soon 🙂 after this last visit the excitement is definitely building that we are going to be a family of 4! Anyways I will keep you updated as things progress but as always if you have any ??? shoot me a DM.. and if any of you mamas were breech at this point let me know in my IG post tonight!
