I hope everyone is doing well. To change things up a bit in today’s blog post I wanted to share a few things that I’m loving/following currently… basically a random mix of entertainment, feel good news, some new brands & more. I did this a while back and am thinking about making this a weekly series again. let me know what you think! With all of the unknown permeating I’m going to try to post a mix of things that I normally do as well as any relevant and current content that you may have interest in. Feel free to shoot me a note of anything you’d like me to cover over the next few weeks!
Apps for Kids: I’m not totally up to speed on the virtual & digital world for kids but we have tried a new program called cosmic kids yoga. It’s probably one of Rosie’s favorite things to do right now. In school Rosie’s class was practicing yoga a few times a week so she has been loving following along with this youtube show every morning. Rosie and her classmates are also communicating through an app called class dojo where they send each other videos. This week they worked on the Letter “S” and Rosie collected all of her favorite things around the house that started with the letter S, then she did a little video presentation and we shared it with her friends and teachers. We have also been using zoom a great deal to communicate with friends & family 🙂
Everlane: a brand that I recently started wearing in 2019. I appreciate their mission of sustainability and everything that I’ve purchased so far is high quality , budget friendly and something that I want to wear. I also love what they are doing right now, each week they are offering new and creative ways to get their customers shopping. Last week all of their go-to denim was marked down to $50, this week they are offering 2 athletic items for $90. I’ve been wanting to try their leggings (especially since I’m wearing a ton of athleisure right now) so I went ahead and ordered 2 pairs: really like this green color & standard black. Sweatshirts & more included.
Netflix Stand Up : my favorite stand up specials are from John Mulaney & Sebastian Maniscalco. Both of these guys have me cracking up during any of their specials. Frank & I like to put on stand-up before bed but we are running through most of the good ones so let me know if you have any good recommendations?
Seeing how some of my favorite small shops are adapting & adding to the coronavirus relief effort. Brynn & Proper closed down her normal operations to dedicate all of her efforts to sewing masks for hospitals. Sarah Flint Shoes are offering 25% of sales to Lion Club International which benefits 2 hospitals in the region where their shoes are manufactured and so many more are doing great things. I will continue to highlight my favorite small businesses on the blog & Instagram over the coming weeks.
Following: two of my favorite mom bloggers “Kelly in the City” & “Lynzy & Co” for Covid-19 related updates. Lynzy is a nurse and is also pregnant so for any of my pregnant followers give her a follow she offers Facebook support groups + nightly chats and is also giving a real glimpse into what’s really going on on the front lines. Kelly has been sharing the stories of nurses/doctors each week on her feed. It makes you realize just how lucky we are to be able to stay home while these people are out there risking their wellbeing and that of their families to protect & take care of us.
FOR MOM
FOR THE LITTLE ONES
Weekly Sales: I’ve done very minimal shopping for myself but there are some great sales to take advantage of if you’re still doing some online shopping. I’ve been getting a ton of spring/summer stuff for the girls in hopes of brighter & happier times. I’m on the hunt for cute Easter outfits for Rosie & Margie. A few of my favorite children’s spots like Smocked Auctions & Ralph Lauren are having major sales & Ro’s Garden is having their first ever sale this week. For Mom: anthropologie (50% off sale this weekend only + 25% off home– I love all of their pretty initial coffee cups) & H&M (20% off with code: 3888) This dress would be pretty for Easter & love this oversized poplin shirt.
