Valentine’s Day PLANS
Valentine’s Day! The quintessential Hallmark holiday? Or the perfect date night? I’m in between on this one, I’ve never particular liked to go out on Valentine’s Day evening because it’s often over-crowded in Manhattan and you can’t get a table anywhere decent before 9 pm… and now that we have our little angel at home it’s nice to include her in the festivities. That said, I do like the whole idea behind Valentine’s Day even if it is a commercialized holiday. My dad (like every little girl) was my first Valentine and he always made a big deal about it when I was younger. There was always flowers, a big heart box of chocolate, a card etc for my Mom and me every February 14th. I think I was still getting a valentines day card & flowers from him up until Frank & I got married. In that sense, I’ve always had a soft spot for the holiday and it’s really nice to see Frank carry on his own little traditions with Rosie.
The last few years we have stayed in on VDAY and Frank has made it a plan to cook for Rosie I and then we’ve made plans for a date night on the weekend. This has been the ideal set up in my opinion. This year, though he has outdid himself. He told me over the weekend that he was surprising me with dinner & tickets to see Billy Joel at MSG on February the 14th (but couldn’t keep it a secret any longer). He even lined up our babysitter already (I mean 2 weeks in advance) I’m actually impressed lol. We had said at the beginning of 2019 that we were going to try to do more “New York-ey” things this year (we recently saw Sebastian Maniscalco stand-up at MSG which was awesome!) If you haven’t seen him check out his special on Netflix! so good! and I’m a huge fan of BILLY JOEL so I’m pretty jazzed to add this to our list!

VALENTINE’S DAY ATTIRE
Gone are my days of getting overly dressed up… so I put together a casual inspired Valentine’s Day look plus rounded up some pieces below that are cute, comfy & will take you from Valentines Day & Beyond. I’m not a big “PINK” person but when I came across this cozy blush knit (pictured above) I thought it would be the perfect casual pop of color for February 14th. (Style Steal Version: HERE) I paired it with coated skinny denim and leather heeled booties and voila! I’m all set for Date Night!
p.s. this coated denim is a welcomed addition to my everyday rotation of denim and I feel instantly more dressed up when I’m wearing this particular pair. If you are preggers check out the maternity version which is currently on sale!
