It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Once the 1st of December hit I’m all about the hallmark channel Christmas movie’s, Christmas records, tree decorating and decking the halls! We live in an apartment in NYC so we don’t go to crazy with decorating but I always recall my mom (who was an interior designer/artist and has the creative decorating gene) going all out for Christmas & the holidays. She hung wreathes and candles from each and every window outside of our house, there was garland around the mental & banisters and every detail was done to perfection. I do look forward to one day living in a house of our own and being able to do it up as my mom did. Until then, I like to add few subtle touches around the apartment.
Tradition is really important to me and is something that my parents instilled in my brothers & I growing up so I love adding on our own little traditions with Rosie. We spent the weekend listening to the Beach Boys Christmas Album, baking Christmas cookies and decorating the tree. Rosie is really into it this year and loved hanging all of the ornaments. Now all we need are those presents!!
THE DETAILS
I ordered these tartan plaid holiday stockings from pottery bran a few years ago and tartan tree skirt that also comes personalized and I love them! I’m also a huge fan of these lanterns & these budget friendly & festive stocking holders. For smaller decorative wreaths: HERE. I also have our ginger jar’s filled with red holly berries this time of year! I also love this monogrammed gold ornament from ETSY we received when we were just married.
FOR THE MOM’S
I have been hearing so much about this Elf on the Shelf. We didn’t do it this year but maybe next year. We also have this advent calendar which is fun for the little ones to open each morning! and I just ordered this letter to Santa & gingerbread house kit!
