Thank you to Minted for sponsoring this post
It’s that time of the year again…and if you have little ones chances are you will be sending out a festive Holiday Card to your family & friends! This year I’ve partnered with Minted to bring you guys a quick cheat-sheet to my favorite holiday-card styles for 2018. *Save 25% off your Holiday Cards + FREE SHIPPING with CODE: CM2018 ** (offer ends today) I’m also sharing the 2017 Hurley Family Christmas Card that I created with Minted last year along with some tips to have a fun and speedy holiday card shoot!
A CLASSIC HOLIDAY CARD with MINTED
With the rush of the holiday season, you can always visit Minted ahead of time to select your Christmas Card & input all of your addresses & contact info before the actual holiday card shoot. This is great for those of us who wait until the last minute and won’t be able to schedule their photographer right away. This way everything is lined up and once you get your photos back all you have to do is upload the photo and you’re all set. When it comes to selecting Christmas Cards I tend to go for the more traditional red, green & gold Christmas cards. I especially love anything & everything tartan & plaid around Christmas Time. We used this Christmas card style last year which I love and I just picked out this year’s style which I’ll be sharing once they go out in the snail-mail! More Favorites: this plaid trim version and this would be cute for a new baby announcement. I also love that you can use the “upload your photo” feature and see which card looks best with your photo.
WHAT TO WEAR
When it come’s to a family holiday shoot I definitely don’t think it’s necessary to be dressed in coordinating outfits. Last year we did the Christmas photo-shoot last minute and I honestly didn’t have the time or energy to put into selecting coordinating outfits so we decided to pick out our outfits that morning and chose our every-day weekend clothes that we felt most comfortable in… I obviously put a little tartan and Christmas flair into Rosie’s ensemble. I think a classic neutral sweater this would be a great starting point for Mom’s non-traditional Christmas look. This year we actually went pretty festive all around which was a first! I’ll be sharing my favorite Christmas looks for the little ones soon so stay tuned!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Central Park is our jam. We live in the city and it’s somewhere special to us that we visit almost every day when the weather is nice. I’d definitely suggest going somewhere fun and outdoors. I find Rosie is in a lot better mood and listen better to directions when we are outside not cooped up in the apartment. Being able to run around Central Park was not only fun for her but we also got some cute action shots!
