After leaving the finance world I pretty much went ahead and donated and/or stored all of my so called business “9 to 5” clothing and have been living in leggings & denim on the weekdays… now that I’m back in the working world I realized I needed to add a few key items to my business casual wardrobe. Being in real estate I don’t have to dress the same as I did on the sales/trading desk so it’s been nice being able to find and invest in items that can work outside of the office scope (I used to hate buying “work clothes” because I knew I would only wear them in the office.
YOUR NOT SO BORING BLACK PANT
These are hands down my favorite pair of black pants. I love the slits on the front of the ankle which add a dressy and chic feel to an otherwise standard black pair of pants. They sit a bit higher on the waist which allows for a flattering fit and I’ve worn them many times out in the evening as well. The perfect pant to take you from work to drinks! They also come in a slimmer leg: HERE Another favorite of mine for the office are these cameron pants from J.Crew. I just really love the fit and the crop look and they have always been my standard go-tos. I have them in multiple colors. (Currently on sale for 40% off ) Check out this paper-bag style as well. This sweater from H&M (is currently $10) and it comes in a variety of colors. It’s the perfect lightweight sweater to throw on with a pair of jeans or to dress up with a skirt to pants for the office. Also loving this camel color sweater
THE WHITE BLOUSE
The white blouse: a go-to… and I can never have to many! I love adding a little flare sleeve or ruffle or button detail to an other wise standard white long sleeve blouse. Favorites: HERE & HERE . STYLE STEAL: HERE
Now that the weather is warmer a little open-toe block heel can go great with pants & dresses. I’m a grandma so if I’m wearing heels they are always a low (thick heel) like the ones above. Also love this pair (I have in gold). STLYE STEAL: (for $35) HERE
